The Oklahoma Emergency Medical Technician Association recently awarded the Advanced Ambulance Service of the Year Award to Muskogee County Emergency Medcial Service.
Muskogee County EMS was nominated for its outstanding commitment to excellence as demonstrated by its public safety initiatives, according to a media release. Some of the programs include the 12-lead EKG cardiac screening for Muskogee County school athletes, the influenza vaccination program and the child passenger safety project.
One of the highlighted areas of the nomination is Muskogee County EMS's involvement with the Oklahoma Department of Homeland Security Regional Disaster Medical Response Team.
Muskogee County EMS has been selected by the Oklahoma Department of Homeland Defense to receive one of two large disaster trailers for the state. The trailer will be stationed at Muskogee County EMS and will be ready to respond anywhere in the United States.
