Motorcyclist critical after being run over

A Muskogee man was hospitalized Tuesday after crashing his motorcycle and being run over by a pickup.

Darris St. Pierre, 31, was listed in critical condition Tuesday evening at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, said a hospital spokeswoman.

Muskogee Police Officer Leslie Biles said St. Pierre was westbound on Kalamazoo Street near 10th Street, “at a high rate of speed” when he came over a hill and lost control just before 9 a.m.

The motorcycle landed on its side, Biles said, as St. Pierre slid off. Meanwhile, a pickup driven by Joseph Liddle, St. Pierre’s friend, skidded to a halt on the wet asphalt.

“The pickup skidded approximately 122 feet,” Biles said. “And in the process, it slid over (St. Pierre) and kind of wadded him up underneath.”

Biles said St. Pierre, who was wearing a helmet, never regained consciousness and was taken to St. Francis.

Liddle was uninjured. No one was cited in the crash, Biles said.
