Muskogee voters who plan to cast an absentee ballot in the Jan. 14 municipal elections must apply before 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Muskogee County Election Board Secretary Kelly Beach urged those voters to apply as early as possible. Ballots must be in the hands of election board officials by 7 p.m. Election Day in order to be counted.
Absentee ballot applications are available at the Muskogee County Election Board, which is located in Room 120 at 400 W. Broadway. Forms also may be downloaded and printed from the Internet at www.elections.ok.gov.
Although registered voters may cast an absentee ballot for any reason, Beach said, special accommodations may be available to military personnel and their family members who are living overseas. Help also may be available to voters who are physically incapacitated and those who are confined to a nursing home.
