P.M. UPDATE: Port seeks nominations for business and industry awards

The Muskogee City-County Port Authority’s Established Industries Committee is accepting nominations for the 2013 Business & Industry Awards.

The Business & Industry Awards have honored the diversity and excellence of more than 60 Muskogee-area businesses over the last decade, a media release states. The awards honor organizations and individuals for their contributions to the economic vitality and quality of life in Muskogee.

Categories include, but are not limited to: Business of the Year, Safety, Community Service, Community Outreach, Diversity Outreach, Local Expansion, Outstanding Sales, Customer Service, Excellence in Character, Business Startup, Economic Developer, Outstanding Website, and Innovative Product Development.

Also being honored is Muskogee’s Century Club. Muskogee’s Century Club consists of businesses that have been established in Muskogee for 100 years or longer. If you know of a company that has been in Muskogee for 100 years or longer, nominate them.

Companies and individuals can nominate themselves or others for consideration. Nomination forms are due to the Muskogee City-County Port Authority Business and Economic Development Office postmarked no later than Sept. 27.

Winners will be notified during October. Winners will be announced at the Business & Industry Banquet and Awards Ceremony on Nov. 7 at Indian Capital Technology Center.
