One hurt in crash

A Muskogee Police officer directs traffic around a two-car accident at U.S. 69 at Hancock Street shortly after 4 p.m. Friday. Muskogee Police Officer Kalyssa Holland said a Ford Escape driven by Luke Dennis, 24, of Muskogee was going north on U.S. 69 when it hit the back of a Chevrolet HHR driven by Lizzie Lowe, 50, of Checotah around 4 p.m. Friday. Lowe was stopped at a traffic light at Hancock Street, Holland said.  Holland said seat belts were in use in both cars, and Dennis was cited for following too close. Lowe was taken to EASTAR Health System. Her condition was unavailable Friday evening.
