A.M. UPDATE: Wagoner school bus involved in accident

A Wagoner School bus carrying junior high football players back from a scrimmage was involved in an accident Friday night.

Wagoner School Superintendent Monte Thompson said no students were hurt.

Thompson said he was made aware of the accident at 10:30 p.m. Friday. He said the accident occurred at U.S. 69 and Interstate 40 at Checotah. The bus was returning from a football scrimmage in McAlester, he said.

“A car pulled in front of the bus,” Thompson said.

The bus was moved to a nearby truck stop. Oklahoma HIghway Patrol and emergency personnel got on the bus to see if anyone needed medical attention, and nobody did, Thompson said.
