Second flu death reported in county

— Muskogee County has reported a second death from the flu, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

The department’s website shows a flu-related death in Muskogee between March 20 and 26. The names and ages of the deceased are unavailable.

Muskogee County also reports 32 flu-related hospitalizations since September.

Health department statistics show the number of flu cases statewide peaked between Dec. 18 and Jan. 29 and has been declining since.

Updated statistics are posted at the website at 10 a.m. each Thursday.
