MPS repeats history competition success

— For the third year in a row, Muskogee Public Schools students earned the sweepstakes award at the regional History Day Competition at Northeastern State University.

Muskogee High School sent 32 students, and Ben Franklin Science Academy sent 10.

In the senior division, 11 students placed to go on to the state competition May 10.

The following individuals placed in competitions:

• Individual Performance — First, Mackenzie Conaway.

• Group Documentary — First, Jeran McGill and Luci Whitaker.

• Individual Exhibit — First, Devan McCoy; Second, Logan Dean; Third, Samantha Shafer.

• Research Paper — Second, David Skulich; Third, Georgie Johnson.  

• Group Exhibit — Third, Andrew Million, Raevyn Jackson and Tori Lyles.

Sponsors for the group are Diane Walker and Donna Zarnke.
