Okay High School honors top students

Okay High School recently honored some of its top students.

• Megan Gayle Fielder has been named Okay High School valedictorian for the 2012-2013 school year. She is the daughter of Tony and Jennifer Fielder.

She is a member of the National and Oklahoma honor societies, Junior Civitan, and was the manager of the Lady Mustangs Volleyball team. Fielder plans to attend Northeastern State University in the fall. She received the George Hopkins Scholarship in the amount of $1,500. She also received the Jerry Whitlock Valedictorian Award in the amount of $3,000.

• Lauren Brooke Fishinghawk was named as salutatorian for the class of 2013.

She is the daughter of Glenn and Tracy Fishinghawk. She is a member of the National and Oklahoma honor societies and Junior Civitan. Fishinghawk plans to attend Northeastern State University in the fall.

• Destiny Breanne Dearman was recognized by the Okay School District and the State Board of Education as an Oklahoma Academic Scholar. To be recognized, a student must have met all requirements of graduation, hold at least a minimum grade point average of 3.7 on a four-point scale, and score a 27 or higher on the ACT test. She is the daughter of Shane and Brandy Dearman. She also is a member of the National and Oklahoma honor societies, and Junior Civitan. Dearman plans to attend Northeastern State University in the fall.
