City man charged with armed robbery

BOYNTON — A Muskogee man was charged Tuesday with robbery with a weapon for allegedly taking more than $400 from a Kum & Go employee.

Court documents state Joel Phillip Banks, 27, used and a .38-caliber pistol to intimidate the employee, and robbed him of $407 that belonged to Kum & Go.  

Banks, held at the Muskogee County/City Detention Center on $100,000 bond, will return to court at 10 a.m. April 16  for a sounding docket, to determine a date for his preliminary hearing.
