History group sets tour of region

Three Rivers Museum starting point for trip; reservations required


— The Three Rivers Museum History Explorers will be exploring southern Muskogee and McIntosh counties April 27.

They will meet at 9 a.m. at Three Rivers Museum for a brief overview of the Honey Springs area during the Civil War.

The group will then board trolleys to visit the Oktaha Cemetery, Rentiesville, Honey Springs Battlefield, Checotah’s Indian Territory Cemetery, the Odd Fellows Home and the Garrett Ranch’s Western town near Oktaha.

The tour will be public, but space is limited. Prepaid reservations are required. Tickets are $15 per person for members of Three Rivers Museum and $20 each for everybody else. The tour is not appropriate for small children or babies.
