Congressman announces winners

Congressman Markwayne Mullin (OK-2) announced the winning essays for the Second District Constitution Week Essay Forum.

“We had over 300 entries from students across our district,” Mullin said. “The high school essays were judged in Poteau, and middle school essays were judged by a separate panel in Chelsea. We are grateful to our judges for their time and talents in evaluating the essay submissions.”

Middle school winners:

• First Place — Chloe Clifton, Vian Middle School.

• Second Place — Audra Gregory, Zion School, Stilwell.

• Third Place — Elijah Vanderburg, Cottonwood Public School, Coalgate.

High school winners:

• First Place — Meeka Smith, Muldrow High School.

• Second Place — Cheyenne McCrary, Westville High School.

• Third Place — Connor Hostler, Claremore High School.
