Christmas holiday closings

The following businesses and offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday to celebrate Christmas.

Federal, state and city offices: Muskogee County Courthouse, Rural Water District #5, Muskogee City Hall, Muskogee County Transit System, Federal Building. The Muskogee and Fort Gibson Tag Agency offices and the Muskogee County Health Department will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

The VA Regional Office and the Muskogee Phoenix will be closed Wednesday.

The Muskogee Public Library will close at 6 p.m. Monday and will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

U.S. Post Office: Post office windows are closed Wednesday, with no mail delivery (post office box area will remain open). Express mail will be delivered if it was paid for with the holiday premium.

Banks: The following banks will close at 2 p.m. Tuesday and be closed Wednesday: Bank of Oklahoma, BancFirst, Arvest Bank, Armstrong Bank, Citizens Security Bank, Muskogee Federal Credit Union, Firstar Bank, and Tulsa Teacher Credit Union.

The following banks will be closed Tuesday, but their hours Monday will vary: IBC Bank will close at 3 p.m.; American Bank of Oklahoma will close at noon; Communication Federal Credit Union will close at 1 p.m.

City sanitation: The Public Works Department said residential and commercial sanitary routes will not run on Wednesday. Services will resume Thursday. Residential routes will run one day behind regular schedule. There will be no yard waste pickup for the week. The Christmas schedule is subject to change because of weather.
