A.M. UPDATE: Inquiry letters to Muskogee Foundation due by Sept. 1

— Letters of inquiry from organizations seeking funding for 2014 summer programs must be submitted to the City of Muskogee Foundation no later than Sept. 1.

D.J. Thompson, the foundation’s grants administrator, said the grant application process consists of two steps. Letters of inquiry are reviewed by committee chairpersons and the foundation’s board chairman.

This team, Thompson said, assesses the preliminary requests and determines which applicants will be invited to complete the full grant application. The four focus areas for foundation grants include economic development, education and empowerment, health and wellness, and quality of life.

Letters of inquiry may be completed online at, where additional information about the foundation or grant process may be found.
