Freedmen meeting Saturday at MLK Center

The Freedmen Band of Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Martin Luther King Center, 627 N. Third St.

The meeting is free. Attendants are asked to bring a covered dish to share with other attendants. Meeting attendants will be updated on events in Washington, D.C., which affect enforcement of the rights of the Cherokee freedmen as well as coming Oklahoma tribal events.
