A Muskogee woman is being held on $100,000 bond after being charged with drug and gun possession.
Kamiron Givens, 25, was charged in Muskogee County District Court on Wednesday with the same charges as Jordan Mitchell, 19, who was charged June 19.
Both face charges of drug trafficking, possession with intent to distribute, child neglect, six counts of firearm possession during commission of a felony, two counts of concealing stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Mitchell also is charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Givens is held on $100,000 bond at the Muskogee County/City Detention Facility. Mitchell was released on $100,000 bond July 2, according to court records.
On June 15, Muskogee Police Officer C.B. Abel assisted a Cherokee Nation Marshal with a traffic stop, Abel said. The driver of that vehicle, Mitchell, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and a complaint of drug possession.
Abel went to Mitchell’s residence where he found an unoccupied car in the street, motor running, he said.
“I went to the door, and Givens opened the door, let us come in and I saw the guns laying there on the kitchen counter where it would have been easy for a kid to pick up,” Abel said.
He also saw evidence of illegal drugs in plain sight, so officers obtained a search warrant.
“We found more guns, one, a Master Peace Arms 9 mm semi-automatic machine gun, was in a clothes hamper in a bedroom,” he said. “There was also marijuana laying around where a kid could have gotten a hold of it.”
There was a toddler, about age 2, in the house, as well.
A total of six guns, including two believed to have been stolen, more than 20 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, more than $10,000 cash, scales and a money counter were found in the house.
Neither Givens, nor the visitor who was at the house at the time, were arrested that night, Abel said. A report was turned over to the Muskogee County District Attorney’s Office.
Mitchell, who was in jail on the driving offenses, was charged with the gun and drug charges a few days later.
