A.M. UPDATE: Porum shooting victims in critical condition; IDs not yet released

Two Porum men with gunshot wounds remain in critical condition Thursday morning, said Jimmy Catron, Porum police chief.

The identities of the men have not been released because their next of kin have not been notified, Catron said.

Thursday morning, Muskogee County Sheriff’s deputies checked on them.

“Both of them were still in critical condition,” Catron said. “One of them had some internal problems, of course.”

The shooting took place at approximately 7:40 p.m. at a mobile home at 517 S. Fifth St. One of the men was shot in the abdomen as the result of an argument that had escalated. The shooter then shot himself in the face. Both men were flown to Tulsa hospitals.

“I’m waiting on a call to find out when we’re able to talk to them,” Catron said.
