Pair sought in holdup

Police are looking for two people they say robbed a convenience store clerk at gunpoint.

The clerk at the Sunshine Convenience Store, 2700 N. York St., was robbed of an undetermined amount of money at approximately 9:20 p.m. Sunday, said Muskogee Police Cpl. Michael Mahan.

The clerk told police two black males in dark clothing came into the store. One of them had a handgun and pointed it at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk opened the register.

“One of the suspects reached in the register and took the money,” Mahan said.

The men also took other items.

“They ordered the clerk to lie on the ground behind the counter,” Mahan said.

The men then left the store.

“We think they may have possibly run to the north toward the car wash area,” he said.

Police believe they then fled in a silver four-door Dodge, driving north on York Street, Mahan said.
