Area trailer home destroyed by fire

TAHLEQUAH — Fire destroyed a trailer home early Wednesday morning in the 900 block of West Fox Street.

Tahlequah Fire Department Capt. Casey Baker said 18 firefighters responded to the scene at 3:50 a.m.

Firefighters were initially told there could be three people trapped inside the home. The trailer home was fully engulfed in flames.

A search was conducted, and responders determined everyone had escaped from the home.

After they arrived on scene, firefighters took action to protect neighboring homes.

Several thousand gallons of water were used to extinguish the blaze. Firefighters were on the scene until 6:15 a.m.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
