P.M. UPDATE: Free tax preparation for senior and low-income taxpayers available

AARP Taxaide volunteers are offering free 2013 tax return preparation for senior and low-income taxpayers. This service includes free preparation and free electronic filing for both federal and state returns.

Volunteers will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every Tuesday through April 8 at the Muskogee Public Library. They will be processing returns until 4:30 p.m. or until a maximum of 50 taxpayers is reached. Taxpayers will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis, and some waiting time may be required.

All taxpayers must bring a picture ID, copy of last year’s return or original Social Security card for everyone included on their return, along with all income documents.
