Hearing delayed in robbery case

The preliminary hearing for a man charged with conjoint robbery in Muskogee County District Court has been continued.

Deontee Eugene Newton, 20, is charged with allegedly taking Johnathan Fort to an unknown location, pulling out a gun and taking $600, court documents state.

Testimony was heard Wednesday, said a representative of District Judge Thomas Alford’s office, and the hearing was continued to Feb. 19  for further testimony.

Newton’s request to have his bond reduced was granted Wednesday, court documents state. His bond was reduced to $30,000.
