P.M. UPDATE: Buckley elected to lead state organization

Muskogee City Manager Greg Buckley was elected president of the directing board of an organization made up of city managers and administrators of municipalities across the state.

The City Management Association of Oklahoma promotes the proficiency of city managers and administrators. It also acts as a clearinghouse for information on matters of interest to all local governments.

“Our association is over 60 years old and exists to ... emphasize and enforce the code of ethics that governs our profession,” Buckley said in media release. “Our membership is diverse, but we are all working toward the same goals for professional development and promoting our profession to the next generation of municipal leaders.”

Other elected officers include Ponca City Manager Craig Stephenson, vice president, and Woodward Assistant City Manager Douglas Haines, secretary and treasurer. Edmond City Manager Larry Stevens will serve a year as CMAO’s past-president.
