Independence Day holiday closings

The following is a list of businesses and offices that will be closed Friday to celebrate Independence Day.

Federal, state and city offices: VA Regional Office, Muskogee County Courthouse, Muskogee Public Library, Rural Water District #5, Muskogee City Hall, Muskogee Recycle Drop-off Center, Muskogee County Transit System, U.S. Federal Building. The Muskogee and Fort Gibson Tag Agency offices and the Muskogee County Health Department

The Muskogee Phoenix and the Kiwanis Senior Citizens Center will  be closed Friday.

U.S. Post Office: Post office windows are closed Friday, with no mail delivery (post office box area will remain open). Express mail will be delivered if it was paid for with the holiday premium.

The following banks will  be closed: Bank of Oklahoma, BancFirst, Arvest Bank, Armstrong Bank, Citizens Security Bank, Muskogee Federal Credit Union, Firstar Bank, Tulsa Teacher Credit Union, IBC Bank, American Bank of Oklahoma, Communication Federal Credit Union.

City sanitation department:

The Public Works Department said residential and commercial sanitary routes will not run Friday. Services will resume Saturday. Residential routes will run one day behind regular schedule. There will be no yard waste pickup for the week.
