Groundbreaking is today for new MLT

A ceremony to break ground on a new Muskogee Little Theatre will be held at 5:30 p.m. today at Third and Columbus streets.

The new facility has a project budget of $6.5 million, including $5.5 million from the City of Muskogee Foundation.

Plans for the two-story, 14,500-square-feet facility will include:

• A 250-seat main-stage auditorium.

• A Black Box Theatre (a second stage for Youth theatre).

• A Senior theatre.

• A 2,000-square-foot lobby/public event space.

• A large multipurpose classroom.

• A Scene Shop.

• And many new theatrical, public and educational spaces.
