Missing Tahlequah woman’s body found

— The body of a Tahlequah woman missing for more than a week was found in the Sparrow Hawk Mountain area Thursday.

Karen Marsh, 53, was reported missing Sunday. Cherokee County Undersheriff Jason Chennault said it appeared Marsh’s death was of natural causes.

“It looks like she went out on one of the trails out there and got lost and couldn’t find her way back,” Chennault said.

Chennault said Marsh was last seen leaving her apartment Dec. 12, but had a history of disappearing for a few days. A deer hunter realized her car had been parked in the Sparrow Hawk Mountain area for days and notified authorities. Marsh’s son was contacted Saturday, and Marsh was listed as missing Sunday.
