A southern Muskogee County farmer lost two trucks, a tractor, a saddle and several thousand dollars worth of farming equipment in a barn fire Thursday night and early Friday.
Jeep Hunnicutt, who lives about two miles north of Warner, said he first noticed the fire around 11:30 p.m. Thursday. He said his 20-by-30-foot barn was engulfed in flames.
He said two trucks and a Ferguson tractor were burned, as was a custom-made saddle he’d had for 50 years.
The fire flared again about 2 a.m. Friday and at 4 a.m.
Warner Fire Chief David Whitson said the barn was fully involved in flames. The fire took a couple of hours to put out.
Whitson said the fire could have been started by an electrical problem. He estimated the damage to be at least $50,000.
The Keefeton Fire Department helped put out the fires.
