CASA to benefit from Communities Foundation grants

Child Advocacy Centers and Court Appointed Special Advocates in Muskogee and Tahlequah are among child advocacy centers that will benefit from a $50,000 granting program from Communities Foundation of Oklahoma.

CASA is an organization where volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for abused and neglected children, to make sure they don’t get lost in the system. Volunteers stay with each case until it is closed.

Child Advocacy Centers provide services to suspected or confirmed victims of child abuse while coordinating the investigation with cooperation of teams comprised of the Department of Human Services, law enforcement, prosecution, mental health, the medical community and child advocacy center personnel.
