Mullin to speak at info session on military academies

U.S. Rep. Markwayne Mullin announced that he will be the host of an information session for Second District students interested in applying to one of the nation’s service academies, a media release states.

“We hope that by bringing together representatives from all of the service academies, it will help students, parents, principals and guidance counselors learn more about the opportunities available to Second District students,” Mullin said.

“These academies are looking for talented young people who are interested in serving their country and becoming the next generation of leaders.”

The meeting will be from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 22 in the Administration Building of Northeastern State University’s Muskogee campus, at 2400 W. Shawnee Bypass.

Information also will be available on the ROTC college scholarship program. Mullin will speak to attendees.

Service academies present will include:

• U.S. Military Academy: West Point, N.Y.

• U.S. Naval Academy: Annapolis, Md.

• U.S. Air Force Academy: Colorado Springs, Colo.

• U.S. Coast Guard Academy: New London, Conn.

• U.S. Merchant Marine Academy: Kings Point, N.Y.
