Relay For Life meeting set

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Muskogee County will have its first meeting 5:30 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Muskogee Public Library, a media release states.

Relay For Life is the signature event of the American Cancer Society. It is an overnight event that celebrates survivors (anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer), remembers loved ones and raises money for the fight against cancer.

“Relay For Life is as much an awareness raiser about the progress against cancer as it is a fundraiser,” said Melissa McLain, event chair.

Team members gather with tents and sleeping bags to participate in the largest fundraising walk in the nation. Teams seek sponsorship prior to the Relay.

Volunteers are needed to organize and recruit teams, seek support, coordinate logistics and lend their support.

Information: Melissa McLain, (918) 683-9034.
