A.M. UPDATE: Body found behind Wagoner Walmart identified

A man whose body was found Jan. 27 in a field behind the Wagoner Walmart Supercenter has been identified, said Chris Edwards, Wagoner police detective.

Jeremy Marshall, 35,  of Broken Arrow was found by a man on a tractor just south of the store.

“It’s still under investigation to find out what he was doing here,” Edwards said.

The body was taken to the State Medical Examiner for identification as well as cause and manner of death.

“They were able to identify him with tattoos,” Edwards said.

Marshall had no vehicle, and it appeared he had been on foot, Edwards said. Evidence leads Edwards to believe Marshall was a transient, or homeless, he said.

“He had not been reported missing,” Edwards said. “From talking to the family, it wasn’t unusual for him to be in contact very much.”

The cause and manner of Marshall’s death is pending.

“We’re hoping we’ll get the results back on that pretty quick,” Edwards said.
