They promise new album, tour

— Muskogee’s Swon Brothers, who placed third on NBC’s “The Voice” last week, said they’re ready to take the next step in their career. But first they have to decide what the next step is.

“We’re going to find that out soon, but you can expect a new album and to see us on the road again soon,” Zach Swon said.

The brothers have some big decisions to make, but some decisions are more fun than others.

Colton Swon has to choose which car he wants after the show gave the top three contestants their choice of a new Kia — and they got just one car.

“My brother gave me the car. We’ll share it, but he told me way before the blind auditions if we won a car he was going to give it to me, and I’m holding him to it,” Colton said, laughing. “I think we’re going to go with the Sorento.”

That decision made, now Zach and Colton must decide where their musical career goes from here.

The brothers spent a few days in Muskogee for some much needed “down time” after the show ended last week, but they will soon be in Tennessee working on the next chapter of their lives.

“We leave on a plane to Nashville in the next few days, and it all starts up again,” Colton said Friday. “But we just needed to take a few days to come home, breathe some Oklahoma air and eat Mom’s home cooking first.”

They’ve visited with friends and family and enjoyed some home-cooked meals, but now they’re getting ready to make some tough decisions when they arrive in Nashville.

“There’s a lot of questions on exactly which path is right for us,” Zach said Friday. “So we’re going to meet with some people on Monday to decide what’s best.”

The brothers’ coach on “The Voice,” Blake Shelton, may have some input in their future.

“Blake Shelton is in our corner. He’s actually been texting us today,” Zach said. “We just have to make some decisions, but either way we will be on the road touring, maybe with someone with a bigger name, maybe just us for a while.”

No matter what, Zach said there will be a new record and “hopefully, we will have a new single out soon for everybody.”

Colton said he and Zach can’t say enough about how they grateful they are to their fans.

“One more time, we just want to tell people how grateful and thankful we are for getting behind us,” he said. “They’ve literally changed our lives.”
