A.M. UPDATE: Cherokee Nation Tribal Council election unofficial results

Two area incumbents will remain on the Cherokee Nation Tribal Council and another incumbent faces a runoff election in July, according to the unofficial results from the Cherokee Nation Election Commission.

In District 4, incumbent Don Garvin will face Mike Dobbins of Fort Gibson in the July 27 runoff.

Joe Byrd will continue as a tribal councilor for District 2 and David Thornton Sr. will continue on for District 5.
