Okay grads get hand from Whitlock

Each year Jerry Whitlock, owner of Whitlock Packaging and a past graduate of Okay High School, awards an Okay High School senior the Most Enterprising Student Award and the valedictorian a check to help with college expenses.

Okay High School Senior Billy Perry III received the Jerry Whitlock Most Enterprising Student Award and a check in the amount of $3,000.

The senior class and the high school teachers vote on the most enterprising and the results are kept a secret and announced at graduation when the award is presented. Billy is the son of Billy Perry Jr., and the grandson of Linda Perry and the late Bill Perry Sr.

This years valedictorian is Megan Fielder. She also received a check for $3,000.

Whitlock’s total award to Okay’s seniors this year was $6,000.
