Porter man dies in one-vehicle crash

A Porter man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on the Creek Turnpike, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

Randy Ernsten, 53, died at the scene of the Wagoner County crash on Thursday, the report states.

According to the trooper’s report, Ernsten was driving a 2013 Ford Explorer southbound on the turnpike at 61st Street South at approximately 6 p.m., when he ran off the right side of the road. The vehicle traveled 475 feet off the road before striking a fence and dirt embankment. The vehicle went airborne  for 34 feet, crossed 61st Street South and struck a fence, landing in a ravine. Ernsten was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The vehicle’s airbags did deploy.
