Dozens enter kids’ fishing derby

— More than 100 young anglers ranging in age from 5 to 12 took part in the Port of Muskogee’s Kids Fishing Rodeo at Three Forks Harbor, a media release states.

“Almost all of them caught at least one fish,” Port Director Scott Robinson said. “The goal is to get new anglers, especially young anglers, out to experience a day of fishing. Hopefully, the experience will be a good one and they will want to do it again.”

The final tally showed 733 fish were caught, ranging in length from 2 inches to 14.5 inches. Fish species in the harbor include: bass, bluegill, bullhead, carp, catfish, crappie, gar, and sunfish.
