Man found dead in Tahlequah ID’d

TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah police released on Wednesday the name of a man found dead Tuesday afternoon inside an abandoned building.

Police detectives said the body of Jason Evan Murphy, 26, was sent to the state Medical Examiner’s Office.

A manner of death has not been determined, but detectives said there were no obvious signs of foul play.

Officers responded to Water Avenue just before 2 p.m. when the body was found.

A caller told dispatchers that he found Murphy unresponsive in the building.

He then began CPR with assistance from dispatchers, but Murphy was pronounced dead at the scene when medics arrived.
