Free beverage service training available

The Regional Prevention Coordinators of Neighbors Building Neighborhoods, in partnership with the Alcoholic Beverage Laws Enforcement Commission, are offering free Responsible Beverage Service and Sales Training to local retailers in Muskogee County.

The goal is to properly train store clerks, servers, bartenders, security staff, and management of alcohol-serving establishments in the basic knowledge and skills to sale and serve the product safely, responsibly, and legally.

The training will be from 10 a.m. to noon March 25 at the Nonprofit Resource Center, 207 N. Second St.

This training, an evidence-based “best practice” for the prevention of retailer-related alcohol problems, has been vital in preparing retailers to responsibly read ID’s, identify fake ID’s, learn the signs of over-serving intoxicated individuals, and understand policies on how to deal with alcohol-related issues in establishments.

To reserve a spot, contact Jeremy Little, (918) 683-4600 or jlittle@nbn-nrc.org.
