City man arrested in gun, drug case

A Muskogee man was arrested after police served a warrant at a house on Houston Street, according to a media release from the Muskogee Police Department.

Michael Hayes, 25, was arrested and booked into the Muskogee County/City Detention Facility on complaints of possession of a sawed-off shotgun, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of contraband in a penal institution.

He is being held on $10,000 bond.

Police served the warrant at 10:35 a.m. Thursday at a house in the 1200 block of Houston Street. Inside they found a 20-gauge sawed-off shotgun, miscellaneous types of paraphernalia, a substance believed to be marijuana and clear plastic bags that contained a white, powdery substance believed to be methamphetamine, the release states.

When Hayes arrived at the jail, he had seven additional bags of the white, powdery substance in his possession.
