No arrests in bomb hoax

— Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Bob Sanders said no arrest had been made into Wednesday’s bomb hoax at the Cherokee County Courthouse.

Investigators, Sanders said, were attempting to search phone records and working to identify what phone number placed the call and from where the call was placed.

The sheriff’s office detained three men Wednesday, but released them shortly after. Undersheriff Jason Chennault said the Cherokee County Court Clerk’s Office received a phone call at about 8:40 a.m.

The call, Chennault said, was by a man who said he was “tired of paying (expletive) taxes and fines,” and threatened to blow up the courthouse.

The courthouse was re-opened at about 1 p.m. after two sweeps through the building revealed no explosives.

Anyone with information can call the Cherokee County Sheriff’s office at (918) 456-2583.
