A.M. UPDATE: EASTAR taking junior volunteer applications

— EASTAR Health System is taking applications for its 2013 summer junior volunteer program. Orientation and training will be held at the main campus (formerly Muskogee Regional Medical Center), located at 300 Rockefeller Dr. in Muskogee on June 3 and June 4 from 1 to 4 pm each day. The summer program will run from June 3 through July 26. 

All applicants must meet the following requirements: 14 years old by June 1, 2013, must obtain an application from the Volunteer Services Department and return the form by May 3. Applicants must provide a copy of birth certificate and immunization records, complete a health record and confidentiality form, provide three reference letters from people other than their parents and complete orientation and training on the dates listed above.

Once chosen for the program, Junior Volunteers must be able to work four hours per week during June and July (Volunteers are excused for family vacations, school and church-related camps and activities), provide their own uniform which consists of khaki pants and a Jr. Volunteer T-shirt which can be purchased at orientation, and comply with hospital rules and code of conduct as well as the rules of the Volunteer Services Department.
