Early voter totals weak in local races

— Election officials in McIntosh, Muskogee and Wagoner counties reported low turnouts during the two days of in-person absentee voting for several elections scheduled today.

In Cherokee County, where a countywide millage proposal for the health department is on the ballot, a Hulbert trustee seat is sought, and two Tahlequah runoff elections are scheduled, 418 early ballots were cast.

In Muskogee County, which has three elections and a school bond on tap, six voters cast in-person absentee ballots. In McIntosh County, where three Eufaula city council seats are contested, 14 people voted.

Wagoner County recorded 47 early voters. Four Wagoner City Council posts are open there along with town trustee races in Okay and Porter.

Precincts within the areas where elections are scheduled will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.
