Two area students potential Presidential Scholars

— William M. Gardner of Warner High School and Kailey B. Perry of Tahlequah High School are listed as candidates for the U.S. Presidential Scholarship program.

The two were chosen from a pool of thousands of students from across the United States. Application to the program is by invitation only and is based on ACT and SAT scores.

 Each year, up to 141 students are named as Presidential Scholars, one of the nation's highest honors for high school students. The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program is a recognition program. Students chosen as U.S. Presidential Scholars receive an expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., in June and the U.S. Presidential Scholars medallion at a ceremony sponsored by the White House, in commemoration of their achievements.
