The Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center will celebrate Native American History Month on Nov. 15 with a program called “Old Traditions - New Traditions.”
The program will be held from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the hospital auditorium and will include displays from Native American artists, food demonstrations/tastings, dancing demonstrations, speakers and health screenings for Veterans. The public is encouraged to attend.

9 to 9:30 a.m. - Cherokee Nation Color Guard/Dancers
9:30 to 9:45 am. - Opening Prayer and Ceremony - Wotko (Creek)
9:45 to 10:00 a.m. - Director's Welcome (Mr. James Floyd, FACHE (Creek/Cherokee)
10 to 10:30 a.m. - Dancer's Demonstration – Bacone College faculty/students - John Timothy (Creek), Intertribal Drum Group and Dancers
10:30 to 11 a.m. - Honored Speaker: Marine Veteran Jared King (Sac and Fox) - Treasurer, Sac and Fox Nation
11:00 to 11:30 a.m. - Guest Speaker: John Timothy (Creek), Bacone College - Tribal History
11:30 a.m. to Noon - Guest Speaker: Janet Smith (Cherokee) - Art Therapy
Noon to 12:45 p.m. - Cherokee Nation Color Guard
