Euro to be topic of MPL speech

— Dr. Murali Iyengar will speak on “Future of the Euro” at 7 p.m. Tuesday as part of the 2013 Great Decisions program at the Muskogee Public Library.

The address will be the third of eight Great Decisions programs scheduled for this year. Jan Bryant, the head of the library, said she “was pleased with attendance at the first two programs this year” and “looked for even more to attend this next lecture due to the economic crisis facing many countries.”

Iyengar has given Great Decisions speeches in 2007 and 2009 in Muskogee on “South Africa” and “Energy and the Global Economy.”

Iyengar, the chief operations officer and vice president of operations at Cherokee Nation Industries in Stilwell, has a doctorate in economics from the University of Michigan. Specializing in strategy and game theory, he is a certified project management professional and has a master black belt and black belt in Six Sigma Lean. He has more than 20 years of experience with Fortune 500 companies.  

The Great Decisions lectures are funded by the Muskogee Public Library Hultquist Trust. Admission is free.
