Two Wagoner women charged in prison escape

— Two Wagoner women have been charged with helping two Oklahoma Department of Corrections inmates escape.

Wendy J. Jenkins, 37, and Jenna Anne Grace, 24, were each charged Monday in Pittsburg County District Court with one felony count of assisting prisoner to escape.

On Oct. 31, 2012, Jenkins and Grace allegedly assisted Jackie Brannon Correctional Center inmates Terry M. Buckley, 27, and Jeffery D. Walker, 23, escape.

Buckley and Walker were missing from the facility the morning of Oct. 31, said former JBCC Warden's Assistant Laurie Martin.

Buckley and Walker were allegedly observed "running from C-Unit (at JBCC) and getting into a mid-sized silver car, Martin said.

The Arkansas state police apprehended Buckley and Walker in Palestine, Ark., along with the two women, Martin said.

James Holloway of the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force said that after the inmates escaped, they stopped off in Muskogee and got a motel room long enough to change clothes. They left their inmate clothes behind. Someone from the motel called Muskogee police, who then contacted the prison and the U.S. Marshals.

The inmates and the women traveled to Palestine, where they got another motel room, Holloway said.

According to court records, Jenkins and Grace received phone calls the evening prior to the escapes. Buckley called Jenkins, and Walker called Grace, court records state. The two inmates asked the two women to pick them up the next morning at a gas station near JBCC.

Both Buckley and Walker were charged in Pittsburg County District Court with escaping from a penal institution.
