P.M. UPDATE: Hilldale school board member resigns

— Terri Breedlove has resigned from the Hilldale Board of Education effective immediately.

Hilldale Superintendent Dr. Kaylin Coody said Breedlove, who represented Ward 5, recently retired and is planning to be out of the school district often.

“Terri has provided strong guidance for the district as she’s watched it grow over the past eight years, with all three of her sons graduating from Hilldale,” Coody said in a media release. “She will be greatly missed.”

Coody said the Hilldale board will appoint a replacement for Breedlove, who was to have completed her term in 2015. Interested candidates should contact Coody by Oct. 30. The Hilldale Board of Education will meet with candidates at its Nov. 12 meeting.

Candidates must:

• Have resided in Ward 5 and be a registered voter at an address within Ward 5 for at least six months before the appointment.

• Meet all the requirements for board members including a high school diploma or certificate of high school equivalency.
