City man arrested in meth raid

A Muskogee man was arrested Friday during a morning raid at his residence in the 300 block of North G Street.

William Ortega, 47, was arrested on complaints of:

• Trafficking in illegal narcotics.

• Child endangerment.

• Possession of firearm after conviction of a felony.

Ortega was arrested after members of the Muskogee Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, Street Team and Criminal Investigations Department found drugs and guns inside the residence.

Officers found approximately 3.5 ounces of crystal meth, five handguns and one shotgun while serving the search warrant, Officer Danny Dupont said.

Dupont said Ortega appeared to be using and selling the drugs from the residence, where a young child also resided.
