MPS kids collect pennies for United Way

— Creek Elementary students received a traveling trophy for being the school whose students raised the most money through the Lake Area United Way’s penny drive campaign in Muskogee Public Schools. They raised $790.62 of the total $1,488.79 collected.

Students from Whittier Elementary also received special recognition for their involvement with the penny drive.

Lake Area United Way presented both a certificate of recognition and a gift card courtesy of Arrowhead Mall to Devin Hahn's fourth-grade class at Whittier Elementary. Hahn's class raised the most student funds of any class in the school system.

Christopher Rice, a Whittier fourth-grader, received a medallion for raising the most money.
