Sex offender charged with breaking residency rules


— A convicted sex offender was charged Wednesday with three new crimes and ordered held on $25,000 bond.

Richard Jeremy Barry, 31, was charged with:

• Failure to notify address change as a sex offender.

• Residing with minor children.

• Sex offender living within 2,000 feet of a school.

Court documents allege Barry was living within 2,000 feet of Rotary Park. Barry was registered at an address in Oktaha.

Barry was convicted in 2003 of five counts of second-degree rape.

Barry also was convicted in 2006 of third-degree sexual assault; intrusion; under age of 16 in Laramie County, Wyo., according to court documents.

Barry is set to return to court at 10 a.m. for a preliminary hearing to determine whether he’ll be bound over for trial.
