MLT offers free acting workshop Saturday

— Muskogee Little Theatre has scheduled an acting workshop — “An Actors Tool Kit” — from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the theater, Cincinnati and D streets. The workshop is free and lunch will be provided.

The workshop is for ages 16 and above. The instructor is Teresa Bringle of Tulsa. Bringle has a bachelor’s degree in theatre from Tulsa University and more than 35 years of stage directing and stage design experience. Teresa directed “A Few Good Men” at MLT and is set to direct MLT’s upcoming production of “RENT.”

The workshop will be geared for both those with experience who want to brush up their skills and knowledge, as well as beginners who have an interest in acting and want more information before committing to an audition.

Workshop topics include:

• 12 things every actor should know before they audition.

• How to analyze and approach both a script and a character

• Methods,techniques and psychology

• Working well with others — a tip sheet on directors and technicians.

There will be a few acting exercises, but the workshop is geared toward information and discussion and includes handouts.
